Histotechnologist is a health care professional who is responsible for providing the slides of sections of body tissues for microscopic examination. Histotechnologist generally associate with the pathologists for completing their work. They are involved in preparing human and animal tissue specimens including tissue fixation, dehydration, mounting and special staining. Histotechnicians must have good hand-eye coordination and precision standards to bring a quality reports to the pathologist. There are courses for providing a medical sonography technician in medical technical schools. A sonography technician usually works under a licensed physician.

The main job of the technician is to monitor ultrasound diagnostic procedures, explaining the procedure to the patient and operate the equipment.
